Back with a Pink Guitar

Back from being a Sloth for a few months... blog quite mouldy i guess. Oh well its time to introduce u pple to my new Axe! Basically i bought a Dimarzio Twang King for quite some time already, during the Swee Lee sale .... 60 bucks quite ok lar ....

The guitar was a Made in China J&D crap $175 brought from Luthermusic eons ago.... however its body made of Ash and the neck feels just AWESOME, solid and abit wide, sanded finish as smooth as a pool cue... a few reasons why I decided to invest some dough in another pickup... the PAF Joe .... it is Joe Satriani's Neck pickup... but i installed in on the bridge position; thus sacrificing some of the power and sustain (alot) of the beast. Result: Super clean sound... can play like Blues, Pop, Jazz... Alt rock??

I managed to split the bumbucker as well resulting in a sound similar to the Strat... but more like a Tele i guess.... Hybrid ba....Stratelecaster XD... but the last two B and E strings sounds rather weak, who cares anyway, other selections are enough to cut through most musical situations i guess; Metal.... Hard rock .... is a NONO. I will buy another guitar for this kind of situation.

Why pink .... 1st reason... The original UNATURAL woodfinish with FUGLY ARTIFICALLY PAINTED GRAINS and turtle shell pickguard is just freaking hideous i just couldnt stand the sight of that abomination. Sorry i would not want to ruin my camera by taking a photo of the guitar before it was "refurbished".

Oh well i may even consider upgrading "pinky" even more... added a hole for a kill switch but its kinda unnecessary and pointless for the power out put of this baby... i guess i will enlarge the hole of the guitar for a 3 way switch, similar to a Gibson's for the installation of a Piezo pickup... i dunno how it is gonna sound on a solid body guitar but its worth a try.... i guess i will install it next semester after i get some dough from co-op, hope shops are willing to let me try the sounds of the piezo.... AH yes like a Parker fly deluxe... but flys are made of spruce -.- dunno whats the acoustic property of "pinky".

Oh ya i pencilled some floral patterns on "pinky" (SEE TOP) i think i made it more hideious than before...
